Helping with fund raising
- Nominate The Passage to be your “Charity of the Year” to receive proceeds from corporate and employee events and benefits.
- Organise and sponsor fund-raising events, raffles and auctions.
- Give as You Earn Scheme: establish a scheme for your employees to make individual donations to The Passage.
Publicity and marketing
- Sponsor and/or give direct help with the design, production and distribution costs of items such as annual reports,
publicity materials and displays, Christmas mailing, direct mailings and pamphlets.
- Second an employee for advice on publicity matters, press releases and links to the media and press.
- Second an employee to plan and implement marketing campaign
Open Learning and job search
- Second an employee to give computer training in the Open Learning Centre.
- Donate
an employee’s time to carry out mock interviews and give other advice
to clients who are job ready but have not yet found work.
- Create employment opportunities to provide work experience for clients.
Computer systems
- Second a person to set up a centralised Information Technology
Network so that we may better update and track homeless client files
and establish a computer network.
- Donate surplus (but up-to-date) computers.
Volunteering
- Volunteers are always needed in our Day Centre and Night Shelter
and are required for all areas of fund-raising, administration and
finance.
- Businesses could facilitate
contact with employees approaching retirement who have relevant skills
to assist with fund-raising, legal advice, administration or finance.
Repairs and redecoration
- Sponsorship or personnel required to survey,
refurbish and redecorate a property owned by The Passage which is used
by homeless clients who are in the process of resettlement.
- Sponsorship and personnel required to make internal improvements to the day centre.

Barclays Bank:
sponsors our mentoring scheme and information leaflets. Providing an
employee full time to work on financial exclusion suffered by clients
including issues around opening bank accounts. Barclays is also a
principal sponsor of our A night under the stars concert.
Bircham Dyson Bell: has assisted with pro-bono advice on property matters and the sale of a house on our behalf.
Brunswick Public Relations: seconded a member of staff to design and implement a public relations campaign for Passage House.
BUPA: supplied equipment for the Medical Room.
85four: produced the Annual Report and website at no cost to The Passage.
Capital International Limited:
sponsored a full time volunteer for a year, who helps to supervise the
volunteer programme in our Day Centre. They hosted a full day meeting
of managers and team leaders in their meeting room.
Freshfields:
are dealt with the purchase of St Vincent’s Centre on a pro-bono basis
and is advising on legal aspects of the development. A senior member of
Freshfields is a Passage Trustee. We received professional assistance
in the acquisition of the Night Shelter building.
Goldman Sachs: provide volunteers in the Day Centre, take homeless people on day trips and gives funds to improve our services at Christmas.
Goring Hotel: provides food for the Day Centre.
C D Hillier Parker: provides assistance with the valuation of buildings.
InterContinental Park Lane: helps with fund raising.
KPMG:
provides key advice and assistance to us in running our organisation.
This includes seconding a marketing manager to us for 12 months, review
and advice on our staff salary structure, assisting us in a wide
ranging review on the development of our services as we take over St
Vincent’s Centre. KPMG is also a principal sponsor of our A night under
the stars concert.
Linklaters and Paines: gave legal advice on incorporation and help with any necessary amendments to our constitution.
Marks and Spencer: provides food for the Day Centre and Passage House and donates champagne for the Night Under the Stars.
Mayfair Intercontinental Hotel: gives continuous support with fund-raising events, food, furnishings.
Marsh Group: set up staff pension and life assurance scheme.
Nelsons: provides herbal and homeopathic remedies for use in the medical room.
Pax Travel: have sponsored our fundraising concert A night under the stars.
Reed Elsevier: has provided computer support and have printed the client magazine Writes of Passage.
Tuckerman: carried out a condition survey on St Vincent’s Centre prior to our purchase.
