Community, schools and church groups

As well as benefitting from the close involvement of Westminster Cathedral and the Sisters of Charity, we receive regular support from other religious orders and from a large number of parishes, not just those in the immediate area of The Passage. As well as valuable donations, these contacts are the source of many of the volunteers we need to help to maintain the different services we provide.

Many schools encourage their pupils to help those who are less well off than themselves. We regularly receive the gifts from Harvest Festival collections and the proceeds of fundraising events. Sixth form pupils take part in our monthly collections at Victoria Station. Younger children always sing carols at the December collection.

Voluntary groups select The Passage as the charity to benefit from a particular event such as a coffee morning, a golf day or a concert or to be their charity of the year.

We are always ready to come and give presentations about The Passage. We are regularly invited to visit churches and given the opportunity to describe our work and ask for their support.

Please contact Andrew (andrew.h@passage.org.uk or 020 7592 1855) if you are aware of any church, school or voluntary group who would like to know more about how we help homeless people.
