Volunteering - a message from Sr Ellen Flynn
Volunteers contribute so much to an organisation like The Passage, coming as they do from rich and varied backgrounds. Bringing skills, experience, wisdom and understanding, volunteers give freely and generously of their time with no expectations of recompense and without counting the cost.

Motivated by a pure desire to serve, volunteers are an example to us all of an immeasurable spirit of giving which is invaluable to the organisation. Our volunteers at The Passage bring all this, and much more, to us helping to shape and mould the spirit with which our service is delivered and contributing to our ethos.

Practically speaking, there are areas of our service which would not be delivered without volunteers. I want to thank you for your interest in belonging to The Passage in this way and I very much look forward to meeting you as you consider being part of our team.

This pack has been designed to help you in the more official aspects of the volunteer's role and offers some guidance in the more practical elements. As you grow into working with us you will learn more about our mission and we will grow stronger as a result of having you with us. I wish you a joyful and rewarding experience and I thank you sincerely, on behalf of The Passage family, for your commitment and generosity.

In 2005 The Passage celebrated the 25th anniversary of its foundation by Cardinal Basil Hume and the Daughters of Charity of St Vincent de Paul.

The 2007 Night Under the Stars concert was on 7 November. Last years concert raised another £100,000 for the Passage.
