The
main aim of Montfort House is to prepare clients to move into their own
accommodation. This involves a co-ordinated response from all our
partner agencies in all areas relating to resettlement. The service is
funded by Supporting People, and clients pay rent and service charges
in a bid to prepare them for independent living.
The
team comprises a project manager and two key workers who provide
support and information when clients need help. The team has a sound
understanding of the difficulties and challenges created by poverty,
abuse, mental illness, drug and alcohol abuse, and is there to provide
support. Staff encourage clients to define the kind of support they
wish to receive – key areas include life skills, security, health and
income. Staff also encourage clients to interact with one another in
preparation for wider community involvement.
